Don't we all just love Joseph? His attitude and demeanor right from when he landed as a slave in Egypt till he was reunited with his lying, hateful, murderous brothers, is just admirable.
In Genesis 37, Joseph's father sent him to check on his older brothers who had taken the flock out for grazing. It took Joseph about four days to find his brothers. They hated Joseph so they saw this as an opportunity to get rid of him and ended up selling him as a slave to Egypt.
Why did Jacob just not send one of his servants on this errand?. Why send the boy they hated and alone? It did not seem logical but God's hand was in it. His divine invisible hand was orchestrating everything. It was time to begin the process of sending man ahead of His people to Egypt. " [A]nd he sent a man before them— Joseph, sold as a slave."
Psalms 105:17 . What a way to send though.
Did Saul's father really have to send him to find the missing donkeys? Could not the servant and another have gone? Again God's divine invisible hand was directing Kish. For that was the day God had earmarked for Saul to encounter Samuel so he could begin to walk in his true destiny.
Some things may be happening in your life right now that make no sense. As believers, we trust that all things will work together for our good. What Abraham, Moses, Joseph, David etc. went through to fulfill their destinies testify to the fact that indeed God's ways and thoughts are definitely, without a doubt higher than ours! We may not understand Him but surely we can trust Him! The next time you have a "why me" moment , trust that God is up to something in your life.
