'Tis The Day Before Thanksgiving
It is a wonderful thing that once a year we are all made to think about thanksgiving. I know Thanksgiving has become more about turkey, diners and sales but it is still important that we pause and reflect on "thanksgiving", to muse on the things, events and people we are grateful for.
As a tradition in my home, on every Thanksgiving day, before we dig into delicious turkey and its yummy accompaniments, we hold hands and each one from the youngest to the oldest prays and says thanks for something they are grateful for.
I know the year is creeping slowly to a close and you have probably started listing the things God has not done for you yet, the goals you have not accomplished etc but it is still a good time to pause and give thanks for what He has done so far and be grateful for the goals you have achieved so far. If you cannot find anything to thank God for, at least the breath in you is a reason. For without life, nothing else matters. In so far as you are alive, it is not over yet and God will show up even at the last minute.
Stay thankful yet remain expectant.
Take today to muse on these things and then let us join the Psalmist to say:
"I will give thanks to you, Lord , with all my heart; I will tell of all your wonderful deeds." Psalm 9:1.
