Time Wasters

Time is money, right? Then we must spend it well and not waste it! I like to say that Jesus had no time to waste time and we can take a page from His book! He had three years to do His work here on earth and go back up so His time was indeed precious. The Pharisees and the Sadducees tried to trap Him with necessary questions and draw Him into time wasting arguments
They did not question Him with any genuine desire to learn or become converted but rather to discredit Him and His ministry and waste His time. He was always unto them though!
Let us look at one encounter recorded in Matthew. Jesus had come to Jerusalem and while He was in the temple courts teaching and doing His thing, the chief priests and the elders came to him to question His authority. In response Jesus asked them to tell Him by what authority John baptized people. They huddled together and agreed that if they said it was from God then that meant Jesus's authority was from God too and if they said it was not from God then the people would rise against them since they believed in Jesus.
"So they answered Jesus and said, “We do not know.” And He said to them, “Neither will I tell you by what authority I do these things." Matthew 21:27. End of story.
I know it is tempting sometimes to jump into Social Media arguments or other arguments off Social Media and defend God's honor but honestly some of those arguments are completely unnecessary and before you realize you have spent precious hours and the other party is none the wiser. You did not win them over and vice versa. You could have spent that time praying, studying your Bible or engaging in other profitable activities!
Be quick to identify these time wasters and shut them down quickly or just walk away. Pick your battles as they say; there is real work to do!
Blessings!
