The Sarah Moment
Our muse for today is Abraham's wife, Sarah.
Husband and wife were well advanced in age and in spite of God's repeated promise give them a child, they seemed to lose faith and hope every now and then. In Genesis 18:12, angels stopped by Abraham's tents and reiterated God's promise of a child and when Sarah heard the word she laughed. Not joyfully, excitedly or hopefully but scornfully. It was a sarcastic, eye-rolling, disbelieving laughter. She looked at her old and wrinkled body, droopy and dry breasts, barren womb and just laughed.
We have all had our Sarah moments or maybe you are having one right now. When you receive a prophesy, a word of encouragement, read a bible verse that gives hope, then look at your circumstances, you laugh and shake your head. Ours is not to figure out the why but to receive the word, believe it, hope in it and pray over it.
We have a God who does not sleep but watches over His word to perform. If He said it, He will bring it to fruition.
True to the angel's word, at the exact time he gave, Sarah conceived and bore a son. She named him Isaac, meaning LAUGHTER. This time it was a different kind of laughter. Sarah laughed for real.
My prayer for you today is: may God turn your scornful laughter into joyful laughter and may He turn your mourning into dancing! We shall have testimonies!!!
