An influencer is one who has the power to affect the character, development or behavior of another.
Before Jesus left the earth, He commissioned the church. Fifty days after His resurrection, the Holy Spirit came upon the Apostles and the others as they gathered in the Upper Room and the first church was born. Great things happened in that season: souls were being won and added to the church, miracles signs and wonders accompanied the Apostles, their bond of unity and love grew strong, they shared what they had with each other and no one lacked anything!
Among them was a couple, Ananias and Sapphira. They wanted to do something nice too, in the spirit of love and unity so they decided to sell a piece of land and bring the money to the Apostles to distribute to the church. The only problem was that after they sold the land they decided to keep part of the proceeds and present the rest but tell Peter that that was the whole amount they received from the sale! Both husband and wife swore to Peter at different times that they had presented the full amount. "But Peter said, “Ananias, why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit and keep back for yourself some of the proceeds of the land?:" Acts 5:3. At once Ananias fell and died. His wife followed suit shortly thereafter!
How is it that these two born again Christians sat at the feet of the Apostles, witnessed great miracles, studied the word with everyone else, saw the power of the Holy Spirit move so greatly and yet allowed Satan to influence them in this manner? Yes it is possible to go to church everyday, serve, sing like an angel, study the word and yet not allow the Holy Spirit to influence you. It is possible to go into the presence of God every Sunday and live like the devil's spawn from Monday to Saturday. Unless you give the Holy Spirit full access to every part of your life and allow His transforming power to work in you, you are just a Christian in name deceiving yourself.
Take a moment to examine your life and see if there is an area you need to be surrender to the Holy Spirit and give it to Him. Allow yourself to be influenced only by Him. Selah!
