No one likes it when a good movie comes to an end. When it is a bad one you will give anything for it to end fast. Well, this year like all others has come to an end whether it was good or bad.
A few weeks ago I was pretty excited about the new year I wrote down my 2020 goals with much glee. Now that today is here I am not sure if I am ready for the new year. Well, ready or not 2020 is almost here; other parts of the world have already stepped into 2020!!
The end of a thing always brings mixed feelings. This morning I am feeling all sorts of emotions! A bit of excitement, a doze of apprehension, a measure of fear, a ton of gratitude!
Whatever 2019 gave me I am still here, alive and I get a chance to do it better. If we are going to do it better in 2020, we cannot dwell on the dying year. We cannot rest on our laurels and success in 2019, neither can we allow ourselves to be bogged down by the failures, regrets and disappointments of the passing year.
2020 offers all of us a new chapter, a clean slate, a chance for a do-over. Pick up the lessons of 2019 and use them as a launching pad into 2020. Make some changes, draw up a plan but certainly write down the vision and run with it. 2020 is a leap year so we get an extra day. Let us make these 366 days count.
I'm walking into 2020 with Apostle Paul's swag, "Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus." Philippians 3:13-14. Do same!
