Thankful

Today is Thanksgiving. It is one of the holidays I look forward to. Our second boy's birthday is in the same week so we always celebrate what we call "Thanksgiving Birthday". This year thanksgiving has taken on a whole new meaning. We have all learnt to appreciate the little things, the things we took for granted and the things we did not care to think about before.
For some of us thanks to this strange year we have discovered hidden talents and skills; some have become bolder and ventured into uncharted territory; others have discovered a whole new person they did not know lived inside of them. Many have also lost some things, some comforts and loved ones too. In spite of all that we are all still here.
This season of Thanksgiving forces us to think of things and people to be thankful for. For me I am thankful just to be alive. I am thankful that every member of my family-nuclear and extended, as well as my church family is still alive. I am thankful for life because "Anyone who is among the living has hope —even a live dog is better off than a dead lion!" Ecclesiastes 9:4. So many have died this year-young, old, those with and those without comorbidites, pre-existing conditions or high risk factors. It is impossible not to feel grateful to still be here.
I pray you find a reason to be thankful too. Just look in the mirror for starters! Happy Thanksgiving wherever you are! Be safe.
Blessings!
Love, Lady Monica ❤
