Spread It Out

King Hezekiah was in a bind. The Assyrians had besieged Samaria and the latter did not have the military might to fight back. The king of Assyria sent his army officials to deliver threatening messages to king Hezekiah in the hope that Samaria would surrender and make his work easy.
Thanks to the counsel of the Prophet Isaiah and an assurance from the Lord, Hezekiah and Samaria remained resolute and did not surrender. This did not deter the enemy king; He was determined to bring Samaria to its knees. He followed up with a threatening letter to Hezekiah. Hezekiah became desperate and likened the situation to a child coming to the time of birth and the mother having no strength to push him out.
Then Hezekiah did something else, "... he went up to the temple of the Lord and spread it out before the Lord." 2 Kings 19:14. He realized that only God could help him so he took the threatening letter and spread it out before the Lord in His temple and prayed his heart out. Needless to say the Lord delivered Samaria.
What "letter" is threatening or troubling you? What news has brought to your knees? Spread it out before the Lord. Do not waste time telling people who cannot or will not help you. God is always listening. Instead of going to the wrong places for help; instead of telling wrong people who will only go gossip about your issue, do the Hezekiah and spread your problem before the Lord. Lay it on His altar and count on the Lord to bring deliverance.
Blessings!
