Something's Gotta Give!!

Zacchaeus is desirous of seeing Jesus but he's a short man so he climbs a tree to get a glimpse of Him. However He gets more than a glimpse, the Lord invites Himself into Zacchaeus house to dine. Little man Zach was not exactly a righteous man, he was a lying, cheating, wicked man, the kind the Pharisees shunned and Jesus embraced.

This encounter with Jesus leads Zach to have a change of heart and repent of his wicked ways. He however goes beyond being repentant and makes a declaration: "But Zacchaeus stood up and said to the Lord, “Look, Lord! Here and now I give half of my possessions to the poor, and if I have cheated anybody out of anything, I will pay back four times the amount.” (Luke 19:8 )

True repentance will always lead you to let go of certain things: a certain lifestyle, certain attitudes, even certain people. Zacchaeus releases from his life the things that will be stumbling blocks to his new found association with Christ.

Are there some things you must let go? Some people you must release? Whether you have been born again since forever or just recently you could still be holding on to some things and these are not allowing you to fully immerse yourself in Christ.

Holding on to bitterness, unforgiveness, pain, secret lifestyles, some stinky attitudes can lead to stunted growth. And until you let them go, you will go through all the motions, speak the right Christian lingo, portray a holy exterior but actually not find peace and joy in Christ.

We need to take a closer look at ourselves and throw some things overboard, declutter our hearts, scrub away some gunk, adjust some things and free ourselves to fully enjoy our walk with Christ. The Holy Ghost is offering free cleaning services on a daily basis; take advantage of it because mehnnn, something's gotta give.

Blessings.

Love,

Lady Monica.❤
