Relationships are not always easy but they are important to God so we must do our best to make them work. Six of the Ten Commandments are about how we relate to one another. When Jesus was asked about the greatest commandment, He said love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your might and love your neighbor as yourself!
For those of us who belong to Christ's family (aka the body of Christ) how we relate to eachother has a direct bearing on our witness to the world! We love God by loving others! We cannot love God and despise or hate one another.
Scripture is replete with commands on how to treat one another. I found at least fifty and I will share just a few here.
Love each other with genuine affection, and take delight in honoring each other.
Live in harmony with each other.
Therefore, accept each other just as Christ has accepted you so that God will be given glory. Romans 15:7
For you have been called to live in freedom, my brothers and sisters. But don’t use your freedom to satisfy your sinful nature. Instead, use your freedom to serve one another in love.
Carry one another’s burdens and in this way you will fulfill the requirements of the law of Christ. Galatians 6:2
Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love.
And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you.
Do not merely look out for your own personal interests, but also for the interests of others. Philippians 2:4
... And all of you, dress yourselves in humility as you relate to one another, for “God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.” 1 Peter 5:5
So, there you have them. Let's practice these and God will be glorified. Yes, I know people can be difficult but you are not easy either. Just as we want God to do things for us, let's do this for Him too!
Love, Lady Mo ❤
