"Just Trust Me"
God is sovereign, no doubt about that. Which means He knows all things and controls all things. He allows some things and disallows others. He sees the end of a thing before He begins it. He is all powerful.
He knew how things would go down after Christ was born and King Herod got wind of it. So He warned the Magi in a dream not to return to Herod and disclose Jesus's location (Matthew 2:12). He knew that once Herod realized the Magi were not coming back, he would go on a murderous rampage and eliminate all kids under two years old. So he told Joseph in a dream to take Mary and Jesus to Egypt till Herod died (Matthew 2:13)
Once Herod died, God told Joseph in another dream to go back to Israel. When Joseph was confused about where in Israel to settle, because Herod's son was ruling, God told him in yet another dream to go to Nazareth! (Matthew 2:22).
When God declares "For I know the plans I have for you,” ... “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." (Jeremiah 29:11), this is how it looked like. He had laid out plans to preserve the Messiah's life even before He was conceived.
Note that all these characters in the narrative had to be obedient to God. Any hesitation, second guessing or doubt world have cost the child his life. Nothing and no one was going to stand in God's way to keep Jesus alive to fulfill His purpose.
Trust that God will not let anything stand in His way of bringing you too to purpose. Well, unless you choose to stand in His way by not obeying His word, instructions and not following His guidance. He says to tell you He has good plans for you this year and always. "Just trust me". That's from God to you!
