Well, since Christmas decorations are still out, I have every right to talk about our Savior's birth, right?. Lol.
So Christ is born; Magi spot a mysterious star far away in the East. They know that the star signifies the birth of a king, the King of the Jews. They take the long journey to find Him, worship Him and present Him with gifts. The star graciously guides them to Jerusalem where they inquire about the birth of the child-king.
Troubled about the news of the birth of a potential successor, King Herod asks the Magi to find the child, bring him news of his whereabouts so he too can go worship him. Herod's intention of course is to kill the child as he is not ready to let go of the throne. The Magi finally find the child Jesus but before they can return to Herod, God divinely warns them "...in a dream that they should not return to Herod, [and] they departed for their own country another way."
"Now when they had departed, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream, saying, “Arise, take the young Child and His mother, flee to Egypt, and stay there until I bring you word; for Herod will seek the young Child to destroy Him.” "Matthew 2:13. And so the Messiah's life is preserved.
It is not God's will that bad things should happen to those of us who trust in Him. He always finds a way to protect His own. The Bible tells us God does not sleep, neither does He slumber and He constantly watches over us. The enemy also prowls around like a lion looking for opportunities to devour us. However, we can be sure of the Lord's divine protection.
As you go about your business today and any other day, I pray the protection and the covering of the Lord over you. May He release His angels to accompany you wherever you go and ensure you do not dash your foot against a stone!
Love, Lady Monica ❤
