Day two, 2020. I bet like me most of you are still receiving new year greetings! A new year evokes feelings of hope and joy and that is a good thing.
It has been said that there are only two things certain in life: death and taxes. I will add that the changing seasons are also inevitable. We can be certain that after Winter, Spring will follow, then Summer and Fall.
I will go even further and say storms are also inevitable in life. As Jesus was getting ready to be crucified He had a long conversation with His disciples, encouraging them and preparing them for what laid ahead. He said in John 16:33, "...In the world ye shall have trouble: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world." That would make anyone feel uneasy without the assurance of victory in the second part.
I know we have given and received lots of good wishes and prayers for 2020 and we are gearing up for a magnificent year. The storms will come though but if we are stationed on the Rock, which is Christ; if we are standing on a solid foundation, the storms will not topple us. When they die down we will still be standing!
Start the year right by examining your foundation-any foundation apart from Christ cannot be trusted. Determine to anchor yourself to Him as you pray more, study His word more, practice His word and fellowship more. Work on your relationship with Christ and you can be sure you will endure the inevitable storms of 2020 and emerge stronger, bolder and better.
May God grant us wisdom to build a solid foundation that will withstand these storms of life!
Love, Lady Monica ❤
