Build Wisely

The first month of the year is always crucial because it sets the tone for the rest of your year. It is a good time to kickstart your resolutions, take some key decisions and arrange and rearrange things in your life in order to have a productive year. It is a month of preparation.

It is also a good time to examine your walk with God, make a decision as to how you want that relationship to look like and lay out the steps you need to take to improve that relationship seeing that it is the most important of all your associations.

In His sermon on the mount Jesus described who a wise man is in His books. “Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock." Matthew 7:24‭-‬25

It is good to know Jesus as your Lord and to call yourself a Christian but it is even greater and wiser to put His teachings in practice. It is not enough just to know Him; it not enough to practice some of His teachings and ignore some.

In this first month I want you to make a decision to obey Jesus's teachings, to put in practice what you read in God's word. That is the only way to build a solid life. When the foundations on your life are built on Christ AND His words, you are sure to make it not only in this life but also in the hereafter.

Whatever resolutions you make for this year, be sure to add obedience to the word of God.
