My daughter Faith will say "Fall is a season and also a word". I am going to talk about both the season and the word. This year's Fall has been surprisingly cold; low Winter-like temperatures and all. I found out that in all of the US except for Alaska and Hawaii, Fall averages 53.9⁰. It has not been like that this year. I guess some Falls are just colder than others.
It is the same with our lives. Sometimes we fall and some falls are harder and mightier than others. It could be like Humpty Dumpty's fall (and all the king's men could not put him together)! The good news is no matter how hard we fall; how great the fall we can be sure that God is able to restore us and make things right in our lives! "Rejoice not against me, O mine enemy: when I fall, I shall arise; when I sit in darkness, the Lord shall be a light unto me." Micah 7:8
Whether you have fallen into sin, whether you have fallen on hard times, whether you are distressed over the issues of life, experiencing a season of calamity, God's hand is long enough to pull you out of any pit!. He is able to draw you out of any hopeless situation. His light shines into places no other light can illuminate. Proverbs 24:16 adds "for though the righteous fall seven times, they rise again..."
There is always hope for a better tomorrow for those of us who trust in the Lord. Do not give up and do not throw up your arms in desperation. Rather reach out to God in desperate faith. Remember though we may be cast down we are not destroyed. He will lift you up; He will restore your joy; He will shame those who are excited over your troubles; He will silence those who insult you; He will light your path again!! Fall (the season) is not permanent and no fall is permanent, unless you choose to make is so!
