1, 2, 3...

Tomorrow we celebrate Thanksgiving (here in the US). The frenzy has already began-traffic building up early, long lines in the stores, turkey everywhere. Actually, I have been seeing turkeys perking away in neighboring backyards. I dread going shopping the day before Thanksgiving so I try to do that on Monday and Tuesday.

I have already drawn up my menu and sent out invites to a few people. I start the food prep today. I always look forward to watching people eat my food with gusto while drinking in the nice comments about my culinary skills. Lol. We always make it a point to hold hands, mention what each of us are thankful for before we eat. The kids are of course excited for a different reason-they get three days off school plus the weekend. They are in some kind of Heaven already!

At our church, November is always the month of praise/thankfulness/gratitude. We make a conscious effort to focus on gratitude in this month no matter what is currently happening in our lives. Not that gratitude is reserved for a particular month, we must be thankful at all times, but this gives us a chance to actually shine the light on what we are thankful for, our blessings.

It is important to learn to count your blessings. As the song goes if you count them you will be surprised at what the Lord has done. The latter part of Colossians 3:15 tells us plainly, "...And always be thankful." It does not seem like a option to me.

Today and tomorrow, I challenge you to focus solely on what you have and not what you do not have! Let's go...1, 2, 3, start counting!

Wherever you are, Happy Thanksgiving and Happy Counting!

Blessings!

Love, Lady Monica ❤
